A bathroom without great storage is rather disappointing. Don’t get caught out, make sure your new bathroom features some of our fabulous storage ideas.

Gorgeous You cabinets in Ivory gloss with Eton Oak

We cannot help but be hugely enthusiastic about all the storage solutions that the Utopia range offers. It would be bonkers not to kit out a new bathroom with some really smart storage, especially as providing clever cabinetry doesn’t have to take up acres of floor space. This layout, which features  You furniture in Ivory gloss, provides four spacious drawers, plus a sliding door wall cabinet – which is perfect for smaller items that need to be kept out of reach of youngsters. Raising any cabinets off the floor is a great visual help too – it makes the bathroom floor look bigger – but for anyone who wants as much storage space as possible, there are also floor-standing options within the Utopia collection, take a look at the Roseberry or Symmetry collections.

i-Line Modular white Linear Aragon Flint

Twin basins, each with a large storage drawer plus a recessed, shelved alcove can create smart storage in an en-suite.

As we may have mentioned once or twice … a pair of basins is a very sensible idea! The i-Line   modular range has an eye-catching surround in Aragon Flint, and each drawer has plenty of space for toiletries and/or cleaning products – which means that display shelves can just be used for the decorative items and pretty things!

You Modular white gloss cloakroom

This is the cloakroom basin from You modular range in White Gloss and Midnight Grey Gloss … even a cloakroom layout can provide a small amount of cupboard space for cleaning items, spare loo roll etc – which saves clutter elsewhere.

You Cocoa Mirror unit

Storage experts always suggest multi-purpose products; this Mirror Unit from the You range is perfect. It’s a mirrored cabinet with sliding doors and shelves, plus additional LED lighting. Of course, this cabinet doesn’t have to be recessed – it can be wall-mounted in the usual fashion too, and it measures just 200mm deep.  See the rest of the mirror cabinets range here. Remember to make sure your installation team is aware that there will need to be an electrical connection for the LED lighting.

i-Line shelves

Recessed shelves are always a winning solution, and are fairly straightforward to include within your new bathroom design – especially if it’s a brand new room and there are new false walls being installed, perhaps to accommodate the cistern or hide shower fittings. For a sleek modern look and some extra storage and display space, try the Quantum glass shelf, part of the Quantum accessories range, see the whole choice  here.

Roseberry wall cabinet

If a classic or traditional look is more your style, then a look through the furniture and ideas in the Roseberry collection is a must! This Roseberry wall cabinet is simple and stylish enough to suit all period-style bathrooms, and it comes in a range of painted finishes too, including Clotted Cream, Blue Lagoon, Peacock Blue, Dove Grey and London Grey. So there really is something for everyone’s favourite colour scheme. See the rest of the Roseberry collection here.

Once you’ve chosen your furniture and fittings, it’s time to get to grips with wall and floor tiles. These two new designs from Walls & Floors could spark off some new ideas; left Autumn Leaf floor tiles and right, Old Millhouse Brick Effect tiles. Not for the faint-hearted, but could be spectacular as a feature wall or floor in a new bathroom …

Little extras … once the new layout has been designed and installed, and everything is in it’s new home, it’s likely you may still have an urge to go shopping for a few final accessories! We’re rather keen on these from Black By Design. Left, Alessi Birillo stacking storage containers for little bits and bobs, and right, the Wireworks Cage laundry basket, both from Black By Design.
