Judging on the products on display at the ISH show last week, high-tech luxury gadgets are set to creep into our bathrooms, just as they have already done in so many other areas of our homes.

Remote-control showers, wireless music, built in TV sets, touch sensitive baths and colourful LED lights, to name a few, all ready to add a high-tech twist to the bathroom experience as we know it.

But don’t be put off by the grandeur of this, as it is not just for the rich and famous; there are plenty of less elaborate ways to use technology to add a little bit of luxury to the standard British bathroom.

In a recent study of homeowners, Utopia uncovered that Brits have an appetite for being entertained in the bathroom. We asked home owners what one thing they would like to have in their dream bathroom and entertainment topped the list.

The most popular choices included surround sound and Sky TV while those who prefer to relax with a tipple said a wine or beer cooler would be an essential piece of kit. Some of the respondents mentioned a karaoke machine as something they’d love to have – taking singing in the shower to a whole new level.

In response to this trend, Utopia is in talks with some large consumer brands, to discuss some innovative link ups that could make these dreams a reality. In the meantime however, you can give your bathroom a quick high-tech update with the new deluxe mirrors from the Utopia 2013 range. The entire deluxe range features illuminating and demystifying functions, quickly adding that wow-factor to your bathroom and giving the illusion of added space.

The Deluxe Magnifying Mirrors (600MM from £499 each) have LED integrated lighting which is operated by an infra-red sensor. This sensor is located at the base of the mirror, automatically activating the mirror on detection of movement.

How do you feel about added technology in your bathroom? Would you welcome it? Or do you feel it’s unnecessary?

A recent national survey has revealed that cleaning your toilet isn’t considered the worst household chore in the world… in fact, cleaning the oven came out top with over 40% of the vote!
Whilst cleaning the toilet came in second, some clever ideas for maintaining your bathroom will mean that it look beautiful for years to come. Here’s some helpful bathroom ideas to help you keep your bathroom looking as fresh as possible.

Keep your basin clean and fresh

Keep your basin clean and fresh by mixing bicarbonate of soda with white vinegar to make a thick liquid and pour down the plughole once a month. Leave a few minutes and rinse with cold water to help remove any nasty deposits that could otherwise build up over time.

Stop that scale
Lime scale build up can spoil beautiful taps. To soften and remove it, soak kitchen roll in vinegar and wrap around the problematic areas. Rinse and buff to create shiny, as new taps. (Note – This does not work with taps or showers that are plated – you could damage the plating).

No more mildew
Musty, damp smells are caused by inadequate ventilation. An extractor fan along with opening the window will let fresh air in and damp air out. Try and open the window every day if possible.

Gleaming glass

A natural solution of one part vinegar to three parts warm water is an easy way to keep mirrors clean. Wipe away excess liquid with kitchen roll or lint free cloth. And for condensation free mirrors, use shaving foam on the glass – when the bathroom gets steamy, the mirror doesn’t. Alternatively opt for ‘deluxe’ mirrors with demisters as standard.

Blast those bugs
Loo cleaning isn’t anyone’s favourite task and if neglected, bugs can lurk. Once a week, wipe all around the outside of the pan with bleach diluted in warm water. Lift the seat and wipe the underside, the top of the pan and the area behind the seat. Many manufacturers have toilet seats which are easily removable for cleaning. Flush the remaining solution of bleach down the toilet.

Goodbye grotty grout
Give tile grout a new lease of life by scrubbing with an old toothbrush dipped in neat bleach. The old grout comes back to life easily and it doesn’t take as long as you might think.

Beautiful baths

All baths are easily scratched. The shine and finish can be ruined if you use an abrasive cleaner and a rough cloth. A mild cream cleaner, specifically designed for use on a bath and a soft sponge will keep a bath shiny and scratch free (always remember to test a small area first).

Be prepared
Keep a cleaning caddy to hand in every bathroom. This essential kit should include an old toothbrush, a two in one bath and tile scrub sponge, a multi-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner or vinegar, toilet cleaner, bleach and some disposable cloths.

As one of the most used rooms in any home, the bathroom sees its fair share of action.
With the rising costs of day-to-day life and an increased focus on ensuring households are set up to be sustainable and adhere to environmentally-friendly practises, it has now become more and more common for homeowners to look into the ways in which they can improve the efficiency levels of their humble abode.
The bathroom is often one of the rooms that can be found to benefit from some fairly straight forward changes that can help to tackle potential inefficiencies that may exist.

Showers

There are so many types of shower available on the market that it can often be a tad difficult to identify which models are more efficient than others. Most showers are now developed with efficiency in mind and will come labelled with a UK efficiency rating.
However it is fair to say that the type of shower can also play a big part in how efficient your setup is.
Mixer showers (which rely on turning 2 taps to ‘mix’ the cold and hot water supply) are not necessarily going to be as efficient as thermostatic showers (which automatically operate and retain a designated fixed temperature) as more trial and error is needed to find the desired warm water temperature.
Powershowers are also becoming more and more popular for those looking for an electric shower that can give you a high pressure water supply at premium temperatures (thanks to the use of an electric pump). However a power shower cannot be considered the most energy efficient shower type around due to the high levels of electricity used and water needed during any one shower session. A powershower generally trebles the amount of electricity used when compared to a standard electric shower.
If you want to try and ensure your showering time is as efficient as possible then it is certainly well worth considering the type of shower you want to use in your home. Away from this you just need to look at the levels of usage.
Put simply, the less time you spend in the shower the more efficient you will be as the amount of electricity and water used will be lower. Consider timing yourself and aim to reduce the amount of time you spend in the shower – you’ll be surprised how long you can end up staying in there, especially on a cold winter’s morning!

Radiators

Most people tend to rely on their central heating less in the spring and summer months as a result of the better weather.

While your central heating system lay dormant, you may find that cold air deposits may settle. This can affect the performance of your central heating system. Your radiator will be working less efficiently as hot water is stopped from filling the entire capacity of the radiator. You therefore end up using more fuel to try and reach the required levels of warmth. This obviously wastes energy and costs you money in terms of higher gas/oil and water usage.

To get around this my advice is to bleed all of your radiators periodically before you start needing your heating. Bleeding your radiator and towel rails removes this trapped air by replacing it with water. It’s an easy thing to do that can pay massive dividends in terms of performance and cost – what’s more you don’t need to be a heating engineer to know how to do it!

Toilets
If you also want to make your toilet adhere to your new green way of life then you could investigate the options open to you that can help to make the whole process a lot more efficient.
If you want to reduce the amount of water used when you flush your toilet you can invest in a dual flush system that enables you to choose from 2 levels of water quantity depending on the amount you need.
You could also choose to use a water flushing widget (or use a crude weight such as a brick to do the same job) in your cistern to try and reduce the water capacity. This will cut the amount of water stored in your cistern to be used when flushing your toilet.

Small changes to the way you use your bathroom can go a long way to reducing your water and energy usage, something that will reduce the amount you spend on your heating bills and will be beneficial for the environment too!

Take a look at your bathroom; are you happy with how it looks? Is it big enough to accommodate everyone living under your roof? Or are you lucky enough to own multiple lavatories? Have you ever wondered what everyone else thinks about their bathroom?

Considering its functions, the bathroom is usually one of the more private of spaces in any home. But this has never stopped interior designers from creating beautiful looking bathroom designs and it certainly didn’t stop us from undertaking extensive research into Britons attitudes towards their own bathroom spaces.

In order to get a better understanding of what the UK want from their bathrooms, we asked over a thousand people to fill out our bathroom related questionnaires, and the results we received back were astounding, given us a usually unseen insight in British bathroom usage.

The Best, But Not The Biggest

To say that the bathroom is the area of the house that people rely on most is certainly not an overstatement. Just think about what your own bathroom features.

For many people, the bathroom includes a toilet, a sink, a bath/shower (sometimes both), a mirror and some form of storage. That’s quite a lot to fit into a space that is, in many cases, one of the smaller rooms in the house. It’s no surprise then that 7% of the people asked wished they had more bathroom space, with nearly 5% wishing that they had more storage options available in their bathrooms.

Function over Form

With this in mind, when asked why they would buy a new bathroom, over 35% of people said that they just wanted a space that was functional and could meet all their family’s needs.

What is surprising is that over 30% of the women asked said they would only buy a new bathroom to keep up with the latest styles and trends, almost 5% more than men. Apparently, when it comes to buying a new bathroom, functionality is much more of a concern for men than women.

Luckily, something at least 20% of both sexes could agree on was that they would like their bathroom to be a relaxing, luxury retreat. There’s definitely no better feeling at the end of a hard day than sinking back into a hot bubble bath and letting your stresses float away.

Time to Relax

Unfortunately for many Britons who share a bathroom with their family, that luxury may not be as common as you may think. Nearly 60% of the UK has one bathroom that the whole family uses, and less than 20% of those asked said that don’t argue about the time each person spends in the bathroom because they have enough space for everyone to do their own thing.

There were an extremely lucky 10% of people who had separate bathrooms, one for their children and one specifically for the adults, meaning they could get the peace and quiet that many homeowners long for. Nearly 4% of the extremely lucky ones had a bathroom that was solely for guests.

Time for an Update

Nearly 14% of the people asked knew that a new bathroom is a good investment, so why aren’t these people investing in a bigger space? Over half the people who filled out the questionnaire said that they update the design of the rooms in their house roughly once every five years. Whilst 30% said that they know they need to update, but couldn’t currently afford to, the majority are willing to invest. For example, nearly 20% of people asked said they’d spend up to £10,000 on new bathroom. Whilst you might find cheaper furniture elsewhere, you simply don’t get that guarantee of quality as you do when investing in mid to high-end bathroom furniture.

After hearing what other people think, how do you feel about your bathroom? Are you happy with the space you have? Or do you feel it’s time to update your style? Let us know in the comments below.

Bathrooms are usually kept as quite reserved places. They represent a safe space which everyone can visit to go about their daily business.

Most modern bathroom’s and the furniture contained within them reflect this. For example: Light, open, earthy colours with elegant features and soft lighting help us relax in comfort in our own private spaces.

Even public toilets are typically restrained. Public loo’s are either commonly designed to look sleek and modern with chrome fittings and hand-sensor taps or ordinarily bland with plain white tiles and a no thrills wash-basin.

It seems that when it comes to designing Bathrooms and Bathroom Furniture, people like to stick to tried, tested and preferred traditions. As with any area of design though, there are always those who like to do things a little bit different. There exists a few forward-thinking renegade architects who strive to flush our pre-conceptions of what a bathroom should look like down the drain (pun-intended).

The Toilet

Let’s begin by looking at what could probably be described as the most valuable component of every bathroom, the toilet. Like most bathroom fittings, since their inception toilet designs have remained pretty consistent over the years.

The cistern is usually always located above the toilet basin, although its distance from the bowl varies depending on the model and time period. The cisterns on toilets from the late eighteen-hundreds are a lot higher than those commonly found today for example.

With designs staying so formulaic, people have been known to get creative with casing attached to the toilet in order to give their fitting some flare. Custom toilet seats come in a wide range of different designs, from simplistic yet chic-looking wood-crafted seats to slightly more fanciful attachments made from coloured plastic, glass, carbon fibre or even metal.

Whether you think they’re a stroke of genius or a blight on your bathroom, there’s a huge market for custom and novelty toilet seats. Plastic seats are especially popular due to the ability to print images upon them, essentially turning your toilet into a piece of art. You can also encase items within the plastic, including barbed wire, LED lights and fake fish (at least we hope they were fake).

It’s not just toilets that can have funky makeovers though. Urinals can come in all shapes and sizes. Due to their purpose they’re often used to make a statement, be it suggestive, political, or just downright blasphemous. In the city of Chongqing in south-central China they have the world’s largest open-air restroom. The four-story building houses over 1000 themed toilets, including crocodiles and Virgin Mary’s.

The Sink

The sink is the one fixture of the bathroom that’s probably seen the most fantastic design innovation over the years. The simplistic design and easy to meet requirements (It only has to fill up with water and then drain it away) mean that a lot of people have experimented with presenting the sink in different forms.

To some designers sinks are seen as a form of art and many modern sinks are created from more materials than just the standard ceramics. Vanity bowls and designer basins are often carved from stone or made of curved glass. On a slightly wilder scale, you’re also able to purchase an aquarium sink. This interesting item contains a sand bed and a proper filtration system, meaning you can house your fish safely within a fully working sink.

Although the functionality of some of the more imaginative designs may be slightly questionable, there’s no doubt that these beautiful looking fittings would certainly make for striking centre pieces in any bathroom.

The Shower

There are some pretty inventive shower designs out there, from showers that have countless nozzles and can spray you from every angle imaginable to those in which the tile react to your very touch. Those who want their shower time to be a more indulgent experience usually opt for bigger, waterfall type shower heads. But for some this is not enough. If you want to turn your everyday shower into a truly cleansing experience then you can install a multitude of extra nozzles along your showers’ walls, ceiling and maybe even floor. It would certainly make each shower a wash to remember.

If multiple nozzles sounds a bit too much for your taste, why not invest in something intriguing to look at whilst you shower? Heat reactive tiles change colour depending on their temperature, meaning that you can turn every shower you take into a uniquely colourful experience.

The Bath

There’s no feeling greater than laying back, relaxing and taking a long soak in your bathtub. The relaxing experience can be amplified with bubble bath and candles, but what if your bathtub was able to sooth you further? What if, when you lay back, your bath lit up with comforting lights? Short of having a full on Jacuzzi in your bathroom, illuminated bathtubs are an incredibly calming and eye-catching way to relax whilst you wash.

If light therapy isn’t really your thing, why not try relaxing in a timelessly stunning freestanding stone bath? You can choose from a variety of different materials, including marble and granite. However, if money is no option, then why not invest in an incredibly rare stone bath? Luxury designers have crafted overly indulgent looking baths from rare gemstones and amethyst.

Speaking of over indulgence, Hong Kong business owner Lam Saiwing once created the world’s most expensive bathroom as a marketing gimmick for his jewellery-making business. His golden bathroom was crafted from pearls, precious gemstones and 24 karat-gold and to this day still holds the Guinness world record for ‘most expensive bathroom’ and ‘most expensive toilet’.

One of the most important rooms in any home is the bathroom. Not only a place for practical cleaning, the bathroom must also be a relaxing sanctuary, which leaves you feeling both physically clean and mentally fresh.

This does not mean to say that every bathroom has to look similar; on the contrary. Whilst you want your bathroom to evoke cleanliness, you can still have your own individual style and design. But with so many bathroom designs and bathroom furniture to choose from, it can be quite a daunting task.

With this in mind, we have put together a buyer’s guide for anyone looking to purchase bathroom furniture, whatever the size of your bathroom, and the budget you have at your disposal.

Types of Furniture

Freestanding
A very popular type of bathroom furniture, due to ease of installation, is freestanding bathroom furniture. As it simply stands on the floor, it can be moved to fit anywhere in your bathroom; along a wall, in a recess, (pipework permitting) etc. Whatever style you have in mind, freestanding furniture is a great option; although do ensure it is sturdy enough to endure the rigours of modern bathroom usage. Cheaper freestanding furniture may move, or topple with added weight; so invest in good quality freestanding furniture to ensure this does not happen.

Timber freestanding furniture

Fitted Bathrooms
Whilst the freestanding option affords you the flexibility of having easy-to-move bathroom furniture, fitted bathrooms are much more tailored to your existing floor plan and bathroom size. This means they create an all-together much more polished bathroom look, whatever style that you opt for. Made-to-measure bathroom furniture means it’ll fit perfectly in the space required. This also means that pipework is hidden from view. For an accomplished bathroom look, fitted furniture is the best option.

Shaker fitted bathroom furniture

Modular
For a much more contemporary look, make sure you choose modular furniture. Units, worktops, cabinets, and even the ceramics can be fitted against the wall and off the ground. The installation process is key here, so if you do consider this option, make sure it is fitted correctly. Not only does this option evoke a modern and stylish set-up, modular furniture frees up a lot of floor space, creating a much larger bathroom space. This makes it a great option if you’re working with much smaller bathroom spaces.

Halo modular bathroom furniture

Worktops

After you’ve chosen the type of furniture you want, the next thing to consider are the worktops. Whichever style you choose, ensure that you have an idea of the bathroom worktop in the back of your mind. For example, there are a range of laminate worktops, solid-surface worktops as well as granite and marble ones too. For affordability, laminates work best. For practicality, solid surfaces are a great option. And if you’re looking for style, with added robustness, granite and marble worktops are ideal.

Emerald Pearl marble worktop

Mirrors

No bathroom is complete without a bathroom mirror. But have you thought about whether you’re going to have just a mirror on its own, or a mirror cabinet? Whatever your bathroom needs, there are a wide variety of bathroom mirrors to choose from. Choosing mirror cabinets gives you more storage options, and with a multitude of modern designs to choose from, you don’t have to compromise on style. This will work will with your existing bathroom furniture as all cabinets sold are created to complement, not contrast. If you decide to choose mirrors by themselves, do consider your illumination needs, as well as the added benefit of a demister, for when it steams up. At Utopia Bathroom Group, all deluxe mirrors feature this.

1200mm Deluxe Magnifying Mirror

Tiling

Whatever style you choose, you must factor in the bathroom tiles. Whether these are wall tiles or floor tiles, the ones that you decide on should complement the bathroom furniture that you choose. In this case, it is probably better to have an idea of the theme and colour scheme, that way you’ll know what tiles to look for. When it comes to flooring, you do not always have to opt for tiles; there are alternative options like lino, and carpet. However, for style, functionality and cleanliness, floor tiles are a fantastic option.

Silver Cloud floor tiles

Taps

Last, but no means least, consider the types of taps you’ll want. It’s one aspect of the bathroom that is often overlooked, or not considered until the last minute. However, by having an idea of the type of furniture, the style, and the colour scheme, you’ll know what style of bathroom taps best suit.

Acqua Basin taps

Whilst choosing the right bathroom furniture may seem like a daunting task, it does not have to be. Make sure you research the types of furniture that you want, factoring in shape, size, style and of course, budget. Then, start to think about the types of furniture, but when you do, always have an idea of how your worktops, mirrors, tiles and taps will fit.

Good luck and have fun choosing your next bathroom furniture.

Bathroom furniture comes in all shapes and sizes with designs to suit almost any taste. From classic wooden finishes to modern chrome touches, each suite is created to perform both an aesthetic and functional purpose.

So when it comes to choosing your bathroom furniture this year, a great deal will depend on your own personal preferences as well as the look you want to achieve. Equally, there will always be unavoidable limitations, including space and of course budget. That’s why we’ve put together this helpful guide, providing you with a little insight into our newest ranges as well as some timeless classics to suit every style.

Achieving a Classic Look

The definition of ‘Classic’ is open to interpretation. For some, a classic look may have Roman qualities, including marble surfaces and sculpted fittings. For us, classic is all about clean lines, quality materials and elegant designs. Almost a modern interpretation of a timeless look.

Take the Nadia suite as a good example. Here we have blended rich wooden textures with bright, white finishes and even granite work top options. It’s a range of furniture that offers variety, but always delivers a consistent, high quality finish. Like any classic style, it blends in beautifully with a wide range of existing furniture and bathroom features.

While clean and uncomplicated in appearance, there is real substance to a classic bathroom design. As well as the Nadia range, this is also evident in all other collections, including the Shaker, Sophia and Sienna ranges. It’s a style that has never really been out of fashion and appears set to continue for many years to come.

Back to the Future

Whether in the bathroom or in the wardrobe, vintage styles are all the rage at the moment. Light floral patterns, 1920’s fashions and art deco finishes are seeing a resurgence; something we’ve reflected within our bathroom designs.

Our Haddon range has been developed to offer homeowners a traditional look within the bathroom, complementing existing features or to provide a complete overhaul. Detail is key and this is why pilaster surrounds for mirrors and cabinets, as well as subdued colours – including Warwick Sage and Ivory – are very much in evidence. You will also find that traditional functionality and quality throughout the range.

Again, furniture provides a focal point within any room and the bathroom is certainly no different. While essential for storage and to provide support for the basin and other items, it has to work with the aesthetic of the room. So when you’re choosing bathroom furniture in 2013, look for units that complement your style.

Modern Living

By way of a complete contrast, you may decide that only the very latest designs will suit your home. If that’s the case, you will no doubt be looking for a cutting edge, contemporary bathroom suite. Well, the good news is that you won’t be short on choice.

As you might expect, modern bathrooms are often defined by their simplicity – both in design and finish. Some will even defy convention a little, as perfectly demonstrated by the sweeping curves of our Symmetry range and the clean, structured finish of the stunning YOU furniture.

This is perhaps the most stylistically diverse collection of designs, purely because modern style is so open to interpretation. There are no right or wrong answers, some want larger units while others would prefer a slighter, minimalist unit – such as the Halo bathroom furniture range. Therefore there really is something for everyone. Equally, with the various sizing options, you can find something to fit almost any bathroom; whether big, small or somewhere in the middle.

Work with what you’ve got

It may well be that you’re not having a full bathroom refit and therefore only require furniture to work around existing fixtures. In any case, all of the styles mentioned above are perfectly suited to completing almost any look. With a range of colours and finishes on offer you can even choose to blend styles or provide a complete contrast if you so wish.

One thing you do need to consider is the logistical feasibility of what you’re attempting to achieve. It’s no good setting your heart on a particular item if it won’t fit into your bathroom or existing plumbing. Size it up, visit one of our many retailers and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

There are so many fantastic bathroom furniture solutions currently available that it would be more of a surprise if you were unable to find something that suited your expectations. If you are updating, upgrading or renovating, take some time to see what’s available and make sure you choose something that will continue to deliver year after year.

Here at Utopia Bathroom Group, we love nothing more than staying ahead of the game when it comes to the latest bathroom furniture styles and trends. However, in doing so, it means we have had to say goodbye to a fair amount of outdated bathroom designs.

Over the past two decades, we’ve seen styles come and go. Whilst fashions change, the Utopia quality always shines through; this became apparent to us here at Utopia HQ when rifling through some of our old bathroom furniture brochures recently.

Time to get Nostalgic

The images brought back so many memories, as they would to anyone who bought one of bathrooms at the time. So we thought we would share some of these classic collections and images with our readers.

Despite some of them being from a few years back, we think you’ll agree that many still look as fashionable today as they did back then; in fact some of you may still have these designs in your bathroom. If that’s the case, get in touch, we’d love to see how it looks today.

So, enough of the preamble – get ready to take a trip down memory lane as we take a look at just some of Utopia’s classic bathroom designs.

1995 – The Vanity and Broadway Collections

A real blast from the past, our 1995 collection saw a blend of clean white furniture, with a dash of colour tiling – not too dissimilar to current styles. Although it’s fair to say this bathroom furniture is unmistakeably of the time.

Featuring our Bianca range door styles, in Tuscan Gloss, you’ll notice the door knobs were round and quite chunky. Another standout feature is the colour of the tiling, which really makes this range look dated. Styles have changed, and as such you’ll be hard pushed to find door knobs like that anymore – these are now much smaller or sleeker handles. You probably won’t find light blues and turquoise anymore either, current shades are very neutral, to give a more calming atmosphere.

1998 – The Atlantis Mirage Colour Solid Surface

Another standout feature from bathroom furniture in the 1990s was the surfacing and range of taps. Here are just a few of the designs featured in our July 1998 catalogue.

The mirage surface effect was once a big feature in bathrooms across the UK. This has since given way to finishes including granite and timber. Additionally, our range of taps have come a long way too. Gold brassware has largely given way to sleeker, cleaner chrome finishes.

1999 – The Georgia Plain Cream Door style
As the millennium was fast approaching, bathroom styles were changing fast, which was evident from our 1999 range.

Whilst the image above has a nautical feel about it, the Georgia door styles were workable across a number of bathroom styles. What’s particularly telling is that the cabinets featured fairly large panelling, with deep grooved designs. Today’s cabinets differ markedly, especially from our contemporary range.

2002 – Hanna Chequered Glass Door Style

Just one of the furniture ranges from our 2002 collection, the chequered plate glass doors, mirror cabinet with bow lights and shelves on chrome risers were one of the stand out features of this collection. We featured this range at the KB2002 exhibition, with some great PR beforehand including a feature in the December Issue of Bathroom Journal.

The range at the time had a distinct European feel about it; large basins with simple wooden panels and clean lines, as pictured above. In addition, we introduced mixage, which went on to become a big seller for us at the time. It seemed retailers loved the idea of being able to change the look of displays in minutes, just by replacing the doors. Take a look at the range below.

2002 – Sophia and Claudia Door Styles
This year also saw a range of door styles called Sophia, which we still offer, and Claudia. Despite these images being over ten years old, the quality of the styling is still evident to see, especially from the Sophia range.

The white gloss from the Sophia door styles works well in any modern bathroom, and the images are largely in-line with modern styles. A nod to the bathroom furniture we no longer stock, the image below features the Claudia white gloss door style, so if you’ve still got this style in your bathroom today, leave a comment or send us a picture; we’d love to see how it looks.

2008 – Nadia Door Style in Burgundy Gloss
Ending the last decade with our Nadia collection, you can clearly see how styles had evolved. The 2008 collection reflects more contemporary designs, even if our colour range has changed somewhat.

So there you have it – two decades of stand-out bathroom furniture. I think you’ll agree that furniture, and particularly colour schemes, have changed quite a bit. Features such as taps and surfaces have played their part; but as you can see, in order to keep up-to-date with current trends, you just have to move with the times.

We love looking back at some of the old styles, and we hope you do too. If you do have any old pictures of Utopia Bathroom furniture do send them into us, who knows we may feature it in our next blog post.
